Holly Swindle's "Backup Pickup" is a St. Louis truck. His speed shop was about a half mile up the road from the body shop that I worked at all through high school. We used to stop in and hang out many many times. I think that's where I drank my first few cans of Schlitz at. A 17 year old hanging with the big kids. Holly was quite a chacter, he would help anyone with problem-free of charge, but you had to listen to "If that was a Ford, you wouldn't be haven this problem!!!!!" He new his Fords and he could make any of them run! The unique thing about that truck was, it had about a 8 x12 piece of clear plastic in the rear floorboard to see where he was on the track. When the rear end was up high that's all he had to see out of!! I heard that he passed away several years ago and was still working on flatheads. I guess he was forgivin' at the Pearly Gates for being a diehard Ford man. THANKS for the memories!!! Mike
