Yes, the chick laid the Hurst shifter right over the driveshaft tunnel with her thigh.

My buddy got a new 62 for graduation (he was set back a year) and we double-dated in it one night with the top on. Drove 30 miles to get the girls and then 50 miles to the concert. He seemed to shift a lot mire than necessary.

No,Ray,it didn't.The Corvette those years had aluminum covers,stock.The 62-66 passenger cars had the stamped steel covers as shown,and were side specific.

The 250 and 300 hp had the steel covers. BTW, the one pictured is from late 63 and later.

Don, I think low HP 63's, the 250hp, and not sure about the 300, had the same stamped steel covers as the full size had.

I know the 62 300 horse had the steel valve covers also. My 62 Vette has them, its a 300

Top is late 63 (about Corvette VIN 13000 and after)

Bottom is 62-early 63. Note lack of "gussets" on ends of HP decal area.

One more thing on the valve covers that Cecil posted - for the one on the top with the gussets by the sticker area (the later year steel valve covers late 63 to 69) is that the "both ends of each valve cover" have a about a 10 degree slope from vertical on the front face and on rear face of the each valve cover. In other words the valve covers have tapered ends when compared to 62/63 steel covers.
ALL 1962 and 63 early 63 valve covers have vertical faces (90 degree from the mounting flange) on the front and rear of each valve cover.

I had a62 SS with 250 horse 327 that I rebuilt, guess I got lucky when I put valve covers on, I had no idea they were side specific . This was in early eighties. Thank you for the education gentlemen.
