The first one is the early Saginaw that doesn't have a synchro first gear. Not much good in my opinion other then saving the front bearing retainer.
The second one you need to roll it over so we can see the other side to know if it's a 3 speed (would have two shift levers) or a 4 speed (if it has three shift levers).

Ok, it looks like 1 is a 3 speed and the 2nd one the lever plate is off. I saw a lever plate in a box somewhere. The Car has a 4 speed in it from what I remember. I'll have to crawl under it ans see. These might have been failed experiments of my Dad's.20230824_101656.jpg20230824_101708.jpg

Car is sooo cool! It will be a perfect example of hot rod history. I hope that you can restore back to the way your Dad had it. When done, people will look it over and see all the special things that were done back in the day. You will enjoy answering a million questions. You are a lucky man.
