Missed that post, don't see any mention of block numbersYes they are, wow. Too cool. Benjamin says that 55 has an 068 car block and 690 heads on it.

I think that guy's name is Jim Buhrman, He's still alive I believe. He and Drennon Dobbs are the last 2 of the original Buckhead Boys left. This guy reminds me of Gray Baskerville of Hotrod Magazine fame but he always had glasses on.

I haven't gotten them yetMissed that post, don't see any mention of block numbers
I just noticed the Block Code is the same as the Door Post Code...How could that be possible? I could not get to the Casting # on the Pass. Side of the Motor behind the Head... I couldn'd see a thing, the Car is about 4" from the Container Wall on the Pass. Side so it is impossible for me to stand there and look over. I tried laying across the Motor but with only about an Inch between the Cyl. Head and the Firewall (+50 years of dust and Oil) made it impossible. I'll have to wait untill I pull it out and put it on the Hauler before I can possibly see it...

Yeah, Looks like Dec. 14 1954 Build Date according to the Code.Your VIN decodes to a 1955 150 model with 6 cylinder built in Atlanta. No surprises there.
I thought the same thing when I saw those pictures! He new what he wanted and could make it happen!!That's hilarious your Dad stamped the 55 VIN in that block!! Lol lol you know how many soft brains will have a conniption over that? The guy clearly had a sense of humor, and was clearly an engineer. All the mounts for the pumps and switches, the adapter for the 2 barrel on the 64, very clean. Definitely not a hack.
That is my dream find 55. Such a cool car. The 64 ain't bad either I'm just enamored with that 55.
