    '63/'64 Rear Center Bumper Section?

I was thinking they are the same. I know they will fit, I pulled the center section from my Dad's '64 since it was bent and put in a '63 center that was perfect. It bolted right up. I can do some checking this weekend if needed, I think the parts are still up there at Mom's. Keith

what bell, starter, flywheel goes w/ a '63 814 block?

Since there's talk about bellhousings in this thread, I thought I'd mention this option even though it looks like you have it covered. I read about this company in Muscle Car Review magazine - http://www.thebellhousinguy.com/. MCR used this bellhousing when they built their project '62 Biscayne...

what bell, starter, flywheel goes w/ a '63 814 block?

Also know that they make a kit that makes a Hurst shifter look like a stock SS shifter setup. Depending on how picky you are, you'll also need a backup light setup. You might also have to have your driveshaft shortened. Keith

Been awhile since my last post also.

I'm gonna start back to work slowly on my SS. Dad's car will have to wait a few years until I get a shop built. I want to spend the money and time to get his right. Keith

Been awhile since my last post also.

Here's a scan of the invoice when he ordered the car, I edited some of the info out at the advice of some members. Hope y'all enjoy these! Gonna try to start working on my SS soon. Gonna wait a couple of years to start on Dad's. Gonna build a shop in that spot in the yard, and get our...

Been awhile since my last post also.

I think I've posted here before that the original 409 in Dad's white sport coupe swallowed a valve and cracked the block. I still have all the original parts and block so I hope to have the block sleeved to keep the numbers straight. Dad bought a '63 sedan with a 340hp 409 and dropped it into...

Been awhile since my last post also.

Haven't been on here much lately, but I did post these over on the other site. I know several of you guys are members on both sites, but some here might not be on the other site so I thought I'd post the new pictures here too. I had a carport installed in my backyard last tuesday and the very...

    How rare?

My Dad bought a '63 Impala four door sedan with a 340hp 409 that had factory air. He used the engine in his '64 when his original 425hp 409 swallowed a valve and cracked the block. I still have his original block and hope to sleeve it to keep the numbers straight. I used the '63s frame for my...

    full floor pan install ??

Thank you Sir! My rockers are in great shape, so they will stay. From looking at pictures of other installations done by members here, looks like noone braces the door openings when installing floors with body on frame. That's how I will do it. I'll take measurements before I cut, just to be...

    full floor pan install ??

There are two different "full floors" that can be purchased. One includes the pan under the rear seat and one doesn't. Looks like 63btop's pan was the one that included the rear seat underpan. I've read in other postings that this pan cannot be installed in one piece unless you pull the body off...

    full floor pan install ??

On a '64 hardtop, as long as the body is still on frame, there should be no need to brace the door openings when replacing the pans from the front of the rear seat to the pinch seam, correct? I will be installing full floor pans, in halves - left and right. Mine install will be just like...
