Is anyone aware of a "check sheet" available that would assist me in knowing what parts are correct and what aren't?
That's easy. Post pictures of the exterior, engine area and interior. We'll pick it apart!

Right on, Bob Same ones on my 64 Belair. Ask Phil about the gas lines. A 327/300 had a 3/8 lineHub caps appear to be '64.
Didn't 63 and 63 use the same badges and 64 and 65 use the taller numbers?Okay, I bought this Bel Air online a few months ago. Got it home and it has some pretty bad rust. That is not my problem however. The 409 emblems, tach and dog dish hubcaps.....well I just couldn't help myself.
I get it home and some people here locally say it is a real '09 car and others say fake.
Yes, I have been researching all over the net. I know about the 3/8 fuel line outside the a arm, the hole in the firewall for the ballast resistor....this car has both. It does not have the fuel line return, was a three on the tree car from the factory and worst of all has what seems to be '62 409 badges?
My 409 car....

Checl the flange on the suspension bushings. I think all 09;s had heavy duty suspension. The flanges have a triangular notch in them. But taxi cabs used them as well. Phil???
I was looking at the pic of the column tac above and noticed is different than my 63. The tac above goes to 6000 w/ a red line @ 5000.
My tac hac goes to 7000K w/ a red line @ 6000. Does that mean my tac is an "after market" tac?
What type of tac came on the 63 409/425?
All the control arm bushings front and rear have a flange. Only the heavy duty ones have a triangular notch in the edge. probably so assemblers could ID them without part numbers. Of course after 50 years most of these have been changed. BobCheck what flange on the suspension bushings?

Someone wanted a 64 belair and couldn't afford one. LOL!I don't see that anyone has mentioned the trim down the side isn't what would have been on a Bel Air (or any other '63 trim level). It looks like some sort of aftermarket add-on trim.
Seems like this was one that someone added stuff to in order to fit their own "vision".
