Welding helmets, what's good?

Get a load of this... I explained the situation to Eastwood in an email and I got a reply and they asked how long I put it in the sun, I said about 4 hours. They replied again and said I should try 6-8 hours! Can you believe this? The damn thing should work right out of the box if you ask me! Or at least, put this sun theory in the instructions. Does everyone have to go thru this??

Not with my Hobart. Good right out of the box. Any Tractor Supply stores near you Bob?

No my Miller worked right out of the box the way you would expect it to.

Solar will still work on overcast days. It is just diminished by about 70 percent.

Test failed! I had this thing in full sun all day and then tried it. About 2 minutes into things, while running another bead the auto dim just stopped again.

I'm done.

After you send it back Bob, Eastwood will e-mail you to death. I purchased a couple items, last year. Now I get 2 e-mails a day, coaxing me, to buy more.

They gave me a choice of refund or replacement so I chose refund. For now I'll just use the H.F. one I guess.
