A few more, Al noticed a scratch in the tach plastic lens and used 300,600,1,000 grit polish and then 3,000 on a drill. Great stuff to get rid of the scratch.

Pat....are the aluminum bumper brackets original to the car? Reason I ask....I was told that midway thru the year, NHRA determined that the aluminum brackets were not safe and the last half of the cars had steel brackets with aluminum bumpers. Any truth to that?? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!

Yes. There has always been a lot of Z-11 folklore, 57 vs 50(really 50), Z-11 was the Mystery Motor, aluminum doors or deck lid, etc, not surprised
