Dean:

Thanks for the update, but sorry to learn of your loss.

I lost my older brother ten years ago and still think of him each year on that day, which was last week. I try to focus on the good times we had together as kids.

Good luck on the build!

I really appreciate all of your comments about my brother and i know he would want me to keep moving along on my builds.......so i need a little help locating a crankcase vent ELBOW ( used on 63 chevs) that replaced the draft tube and went to a PCV instead with the long bolt to hold it in the quarter size hole in the back of the intake. I hope you all know what i am talking about. Thanks, Dean

Hey, Dean, just how long (or short) is that elbow? I recall the draft tube is maybe a foot to a foot-and-a-half long plus the elbow. Can you make one out of that?

Is this what you are talking about? Show Cars has them for 1 -4 barrel, 22-4 barrels, just search 1963 PCV on their site.

Engine swap coming along in my hardtop.....turning back into a cruiser with 348. Looking forward to putting my stroker 348 into the biscayne and banging some gears

NO, its a friends that's building a 61 vert. Wish it was, but used his lift for engine swap and helped my old bones a lot. Don, the engine was built very mild..040 over with 3.76 stroker (built before they had kits available) with a custom grind (mild street) and low compression. Ran very well for the street, but was just a mid 14. sec. car. Tony is going to change out the Ross pistons for Diamonds with a bump in compression and going to a roller cam with more duration and lift. I am hoping for a 60 to 70 hp. increase. Tony will dyno it before i get it back and put it in the Biscayne behind a 4 speed and 3.70 gears. I have decided not to use the 12 bolt 4.10 rear and will offer it for sale to the highest bidder. Bought it from Phil and it is set up for X-frame cars.

Well, a little setback in my "stock" 348 build for the bubbletop. Seems on startup, that my intake valves married the pistons.....so out came the engine and a new set of forged pistons and intake valves should set things right. LOL Guess you (me) never get to old to learn. I moved the cam from my stroker 348 to the stock 348 never thinking about piston to valve clearance...DUH!!
