The valve keepers looked fine when I put them in. Was hard to tell that they were so loose on there.

I am trying to decide if I should change the main bearings when I get my block back. I have the Clevit MB3993H main bearings with the groove. Summit has the same ones I think. I got mine from Show Cars the first time. The rod bearings look really nice.
I am also waiting for a new used 348 to get here from Redford Michigan. I got it on Ebay for $409 plus $340 shipping. Should be here any minute.

Just arrived. Scored 5 boxes of 1157 bulbs too lol. Nice valve covers.

Motor mounts up front still there ???????

It only has one notch in the cylinder. I chipped one of the cylinder bottoms with a rod taking it apart. Grrrrr.

My mechanic friend says it should be ok. The other block had a chip too but not as bad. My dumb ass fault.

I’m definitely no expert here but do you need to round off the edges so as not to create a stress riser which could cause more of a crack

The boring bar and hone will smooth out a lot of that,but soothing it out is a great idea in order to prevent piston scuffing.

Those orange valve covers on the motor are a one year only valve covers for 1958 Chevy 348 motors.

Since the chipped area is above ring travel wear pattern ,could that saturate beyond the oil ring???

Looks like is at the bottom of the skirt, shouldn't be a problem.

It is at the bottom of the cylinder. Like I said someone did it to my other block and auto machine did grind the edges of it.
I will do what I can. It never ends.

Yes wasn't thinking that would be the skirt wear pattern, so as you say it would be ok.
