Stamping numbers can be altered,casting numbers can't,as they are cast in at the foundry.

Where is the block number itself exactly?Yes it's possible,I just hope that in your case that it is really a 409.Remember,there are some very shady charactors in this world.
Okay thank youOn the raised portion of the block,drivers side,where the bellhousing bolts up.Can be difficult to see without good lighting.Usually involves crawling over the fender to access.
Is there anyway you could send a pic of your casting number or of what it should look like? I didn’t think to snap a pic of the one on this car but I would recognize it when I see anotherOkay thank you

Just realized it starts with a 2... What’s the bad news there?Post the casting number so others can make sure you have it right. As previously stated the stamped QB is probably legit but they can be restamped and many have been.
